The Obamas are back!

Just one month after leaving the White House, and after happily vacationing (we saw the pictures), they have each landed book deals with Penguin Random House. The publisher has acquired rights to pen separate memoirs for our forever POTUS and FLOTUS, Barack and Michelle Obama, under classified terms.

“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our publishing partnership with President and Mrs. Obama. With their words and their leadership, they changed the world, and every day, with the books we publish at Penguin Random House, we strive to do the same.  Now, we are very much looking forward to working together with President and Mrs. Obama to make each of their books global publishing events of unprecedented scope and significance.” – Penguin Random House CEO Markus Dohle

The deals are reportedly worth $60M, and the publisher has also stated that 1 million books would be donated to First Book, a nonprofit and the White House eBooks initiative in Washington, D.C., in the Obama family’s honor.
