Virginia McLaurin, the centenarian seen dancing with the Obamas at the White House, just celebrated her 108th birthday.
She was surrounded by a group of school children in her D.C. neighborhood, and was surprised with a tribute from none other than the Globetrotters. McLaurin became an honorary member, receiving her very own jersey and Globetrotters basketball.
“I met so many wonderful people. And it makes you feel good. You don’t feel your age.”
After the large group sang “Happy Birthday” to whom many affectionately call “Grandma Virginia”, the Globetrotters donated 108 tickets to underprivileged youth to check them out over the weekend at the Verizon Center in D.C.
