Accomplished comedian, actor and Chappelle’s Show star, Charlie Murphy, has died at the age of 57 following a leukemia battle. He was also the older brother of Eddie Murphy.
Charlie made his big screen debut on the set of the 1989 Harlem Nights (directed by Eddie). He also appeared in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever and Mo’ Better Blues, as well as The Player’s Club (directed by Ice Cube). Perhaps the most memorable Charlie sketches were the Rick James and Prince pieces with fellow comedian, Dave Chappelle. He also co-wrote Vampire in Brooklyn (directed by Eddie) and Norbit.
