For the first time since 1985, 4 American women are in the semifinals at a Grand Slam. The 4 available spots have officially been claimed by Venus Williams, Sloane Stephens, CoCo Vandeweghe and Madison Keys. Each advanced to the penultimate rounds, following impressive showings.

This marks Venus Williams’ first time returning to the semifinals since 2010. Her sister, Serena Williams, was noticeably absent for good reason as she just recently gave birth to her first child – a baby girl. American women have not been this prominent in the US Open since 2002, where 5 of 6 players were American.

Here’s how they each stamped their tickets into the semifinals:

Vandeweghe defeated Karolina Pliskova.
