Erin Jackson, after finishing third in the 500-meter race in Milwaukee at 39.04 seconds, became the first Black woman to qualify on the U.S. Olympic long-track speed skating team.

Also, just recently, Maame Biney became the first Black woman to qualify for the U.S. Olympic short-track 500-meter finish in Utah.
